I found this article fascinating. I'm really getting into runes. I'd love to get crafty and make my own.

Do you use them?

Book 1 in the Dr. Evan Wilding series. I read several reviews that thought this was too detailed and sort of a Dan Brown-like serial killer thriller, but it worked for me. I loved all of the info on runes, Vikings, and bog bodies. (Bog bodies are so interesting!) I thought I had the killer figured out and I was wrong. The second book is on my sooner rather later TBR. #SeriesLove2023

Did well on our free community Facebook group today. It was started during covid when everyone was cleaning out but had nowhere to get rid of the stuff so a lady started a pg for advertising the junk you wanted to dispose of. You put it out the front of your 🏡 & people would come by & find their treasure in your 🗑. Not only did I get 2 bags of designer clothes (some with 🏷) today but I also got this eclectic mix. I hope my niece likes the 📚

Ruthiella Nice haul! What a great idea. 💡 1y

While I don‘t think I‘ll use the information in all of the sections of this book, I‘m glad I read it. It had a good basic overview of different types of runes, which would be good information for someone new to runes who wasn‘t sure which type of runes would work best for them. If you‘d like to start working with runes and aren‘t sure where to begin, this book is a good jumping off point. Recommended for beginners. #witchy #runes

#OminousOctober Day 18: #Enchanting (oracular, really, more like in more ways than one. Bought this at the biennial library warehouse sale of the International Youth Library in Munich back in 2016 or 2017, I think. It is only now that I am “learning” its many enchantments/divinities. I think I got this entire thing for 2 euros.

While I haven‘t finished reading it yet, I like this book so much that I purchased a copy so I can take notes in it. So far, it‘s been a quick overview of three different runic systems: the Elder Futhark, the witches‘ runes and the Ogham runes. It‘s got some good basic information in it, and I plan to refer back to it particularly for the quick guide to rune meanings and also for details on how to do several different spreads. Solid information.

This is an okay book for beginners. There‘s an overview of the history of the runes, but easily half of the book is description of each one of the 24 runes. There is a pronunciation guide, which is really helpful. There‘s also a quick reference guide at the end of the book (also really helpful). There‘s also a list of books for further reading, several of which I‘ll be tracking down so I can learn more. All in all, it‘s a soft pick for me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
