As a rugby player this made me so happy. It is the only rugby romance I have ever found and it was so phenomenal. I love a good slow burn, and this was exactly that. I loved the characters, none of them are forgettable. I‘m already reading the second book and I can‘t wait to get further into it. I NEED more rugby romance novel recommendations.

I panned the first book, and honestly this one isn't any better, but I picked it up because the first book just ends mid scene, so I guess the author managed to hook me? Most of this was just boring, but some very upsetting things happen in the 2nd half of the book and thankfully I could skim the rest.

So I buddy hate read this with a friend and it's sooooo bad. that it was weirdly fun? I know this is a super popular book on TikTok and we sold a crap ton of preorders at the store, so no shade if you love the Boys of Tommen series... I'm the idiot that started the 2nd book bc the first one legit ends with cliffhanger so hangering that I had too. Sigh.

When I was reading this I legitimately didn't know much about this game as I don't know much...OK nothing about rugby. At the end of this book I couldn't read fast enough to find out how it was going to end! Another one I highly recommend if you're looking for a solid #nonfiction read.

1. I don‘t watch a lot of sports but do try to go to at least one baseball game a year at Wrigley Field because it‘s a great place to spend a summer afternoon.

2. The tagged book (YA) about a high school junior named Ryan Dean West who is on the school‘s rugby team is fantastic. I also really enjoy C. S. Pacat‘s Fence, a comic about a high school fencing team that brings ALL the drama all the time. Really fun.

As soon as I started this book I knew it was going to be something special. Remember a few weeks ago I read Luna and the Lie? Yeah. Well this is about her best friend. The love interest is so soft spoken and gentle. Second chance romance is hard to accomplish. Zapata definitely did it really well.

I finished this unexpectedly on my way to my moms this morning. I was enjoying it so much I didn‘t even realize it was near the end. I could have listened for much longer.

I know this came out ages ago but it‘s been languishing on my Netgalley Shelf for far too long.

Also I think I need to revisit T-Rex and Charlie Mouse.
