This was okay, but not great. I wanted to like the characters, but I never fully got there.

A novel about adoption and the connection between the adopted person and birth parents. The emotional aspects of sealed records and struggles are often overlooked in what people hope will be a kind if “new love” for the adopted person and her/his birth parents. A reporter named Jane becomes involved in helping her friend Tuck. What follows is dangerous and more than a bit difficult. 3.75/5⭐️
Completed from my TBR Bookshelf.
So I was a little annoyed that this book was more about two people working at a newspaper than about children being sold out of desperation in the 1930s. But after a bit I became so immersed in the story that it didn't matter anymore.

Long day watching the Grand, though we did have a blast at SkyZone (indoor trampoline park)! And I'm amazed at just how much the 5min knee exercises coupled with a daily 1.5 mile 100ft elevation walks have made difference in my leg strength and stamina; cause it certainly doesn't feel that way when I'm walking up that dreaded, fucking hill 😂
Book and relaxation time 😌
4⭐️ A heartwarming Christmas story. I particularly enjoyed the cameos of the late Queen and her husband (I had images of Claire Foy and Matt Smith in my head, whenever the Queen and the Prince were in scenes). #2025 #fiction #christmas #holiday #romance
I thoroughly enjoyed this heartwarming Christmas themed book. Just an all round great read. Queen Elizabeth II has a cameo role as does Prince Philip. A lovely, gentle story.
The perfect marriage of Christmas romance and historical fiction! I loved everything about this book and it is probably my new Christmas favorite!!
