Soft pick. I liked the mystery surrounding the reality show, but it was much less character focussed than the first novel. Ffion and Leo were a big focus in book 1 as was Ffion‘s family and that was absent here, so while it works as a mystery/procedural it‘s not what I expected from this installment.

Better than the first! I really liked Georgina and her relationship with Ffion. Kinda frustrated with Leo & Ffion. But the supporting characters were great and Macintosh does a great job making the setting come to life.

The Book of Essie: A novel | Meghan MacLean Weir

Essie is a teen who has grown up on reality TV show centered around her religious family. Now 17 and pregnant, her mother and the production crew want to plan how best to handle her but Essie has her own plan. I liked this book so much more than I suspected I would! Told in three perspectives which added more substance to what could have just been a light page turner. I rooted for Essie to finally get the escape she needed.

Reggie Teen Mom is having their new sweet sixteen reunion. Where all their kids they had in the show in 2008 have now turned 16.crazy how time flies. And I wonder what those kids think about their parents. 5mo
Jas16 @Reggie 16 years already? I don‘t want a ton a reality TV but I did watch the first season or two of that show. I do wonder what it feels like for them having that record of their lives out there. All these kids who grew up in the public spotlight, edited for more viewers, without their consent. 5mo

Dead Famous | Ben Elton

“Dead Famous“ is a sharp, funny, and ultimately disturbing look at the dark side of reality television and the lengths people will go to for fame. It‘s a thought-provoking commentary on a culture where entertainment often trumps human decency, and where the line between reality and fiction becomes increasingly blurred.

I've only known Kelly Osbourne from her song “Daddy don't preach“, but when I came along this book, the cover just spoke to me. And after reading it, I'd say I would like to be friends with Kelly. We wouldn't agree on everything, but I'm deeply impressed with her, her honesty, and her attitude. She's very, very honest and open in those letters, about herself, the showbiz, her family.

AnnCrystal Love that song 👏😎👍.

It was funny. My brother wasn't allowed to listen to the music of Ozzy Osbourne (Prince of Darkness). It wasn't just Ozzy, it was any heavy metal.

Years later, my brother must have been laughing from heaven because his whole family discovers “The Osbournes“ from their reality show and become fans 😂.

We also followed the Osbournes into the reality show, Ozzy & Jack's World Detour. Kelly Osbourne appears in season two.

So good! I loved every minute of this follow up to The Last Party except for the end where it ended on a cliffhanger. And the next one isn‘t out yet. But it was a solid mystery, had great character development, and a fast pace and I‘ll look forward to the next one eagerly. #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks

Really getting into some books set in Wales. This is the 2nd book in the Ffion Morgan series and I might have liked it more than the 1st!

This one has a reality tv show set up in the mountains and a contestant goes missing. While they‘re trying to find the missing contestant, the show runner is murdered.

This was a good mystery, but I really liked the relationships!
