Miss Benson's Beetle | Rachel Joyce
post image
Pickpick

Margary Benson, a 47 yo science teacher, sets out on an expedition to search for the golden beetle of New Caledonia. Enid Pretty is her assistant. Both ladies are strong, flawed, quirky characters. Story about their friendship. Uplifting & delightful, the story has many humorous & entertaining parts. I have read all of Rachel Joyce's books and I look forward to reading her next book. I would recommend this to those who love travel and adventure.

EadieB Thanks to NetGalley and Random House. #MissBensonsBeetle #RachelJoyce 4y

The Music Shop | Rachel Joyce

Day 27 - #Music #TheMusicShop #RachelJoyce #SelfImprovementSept

1988. On a dead-end street in a run-down suburb there is a music shop that stands small and brightly lit. The shop attracts the lonely, the sleepless, the adrift; Frank, the shop‘s owner, has a way of connecting his customers with just the piece of music they need. Then, one day, into his shop comes a beautiful young woman, Ilse Brauchmann, who asks Frank to teach her about music.

EadieB I immediately thought of this book (edited) 5y
