1. Tagged. I have had this book on my TBR for years. What a title!
2. No. I have thought about pre-ordering The Dead Cat Tail Assassins, but it is coming out around my birthday, so I will wait and see if it gets gifted. I'm considering pre-ordering 49 Miles Alone, but the library is so much cheaper :-)
And a double-banger straight off the mark, in the book I was already reading.
It's the first one I've double-dipped - but I've decided that for me, if it's in the same sentence/paragraph I can snaffle it.

This was pretty meh for me. I‘ve always heard so much about this one-that it is a formative version of the genre but it didn‘t hold up well for me and was sooooo long. I almost bailed a few times and didn‘t find the characters at all. #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks
Really wanted to keep reading this.
I liked the female lead, I wanted to know more about her friendships with Belle, then Dorcas.
I had such sympathy for her as she adapted and coped with everything. The addition of the slavery aspect wasn't the main story, it is part of it, and that was so well written.
1. Most of my recommendations will be historical fiction. The tagged book is a favorite set in 1850s Ohio; a young woman helps runaway enslaved persons make their way to freedom.
2. I should be representing Cleveland and all the great things we have here, but I have to say don‘t miss the NURRFC in Cincinnati. While in Cincinnati there are several other great museums in the old Union Station.

The author had to do a lot of research on a lot of different things, including Quakers, quilting, Ohio, and the Underground Railroad. I quite liked it, but I never did figure out the odd attraction she had for one character. I did love Belle! I‘m not a quilter or sewer, so I found the Underground Railroad and the Quakers more interesting.
This book. Untraditional and unconventional. Completely on the perimeter of usual historical romance plotting. In the wake of a devastating stroke, the hero is trapped in a world of pity and silence. He cannot communicate his thoughts or feelings and has sunk into black despair and rage because of the devastating aftermath of a stroke. She is his rescuer and redemption, pretentious and prickly. A Quaker and a rake - and an epic love story.
