This is certainly a much different version of events, a much different story than what was presented in Catholic school and by my devoutly Irish Catholic grandmother. Honestly, if my grandmother had actually known about some of these things, she would have explained them away or seen it as Catholic persecution. Sadly, this is how most people will take this entire book.

GingerAntics The same actions by anyone else would be swiftly condemned by these same people, which should tell you everything you need to know.

The evidence here is sometimes sparse because of the short nature of this book. I would have loved a longer book with the proper evidence Hitchens is known for digging up.

I grew up knowing very little about Mother Teresa and went into this book with a very open mind about her. After having read it, I am inspired by her faith and unfaltering loyalty to see Jesus in every person she met.

This writer is one of the main subjects/interviewees in the first season of the podcast pictured. It‘s about the Missionaries of Charity order, founded by Mother Teresa. I just finished listening and found it fascinating. The tagged is her book about her experiences joining the MCs and eventually leaving.

jlhammar Sounds really good - both the book and podcast. Thank you for sharing! 1y

This is one of my favourite books by Mother Teresa. The world needs her type of kindness, metal, and compassion. This collection of essays really is an amazing read. She challenges her readers to find the best in themselves and see the best in others.
