As a series of tragedies occur Wren starts to unravel all of the secrets of her family and emerge from her seclusion. I really liked this. pickI‘ve enjoyed both books that I‘ve read by this author. (Though didn‘t care for the reader…too overly dramatic and got on my nerves). Sort of surprised this author isn‘t more well-known.
pickMy first 5 ⭐ read of the year. This is 15-year-old Wren's coming-of-age story. She lives with her parents in the mountains of West Virginia. Her father is a snake handling preacher; her mother has been beaten down by life. It is a stunning novel and I will definitely read anything else this author writes.
