I used to love this book and all of the illustrations when I was little. While it is such a great book, it also has such a meaningful message to children

“slow and steady wins”

so loved this book I think it was adorable. I like the lesson it taught. It taught me that you can take your time and not rush everything. I would defiantly read it to my students.

This TL book is a retelling by Teresa Mlawer of the famous folktale The Tortoise and the Hare. Like all folktale this a story passed down by storytelling throughout the generations. The Tortoise and the Hare give a entertaining story with a great moral. The moral being that with dedication and perseverance you can accomplish anything. A S goes along perfectly with this TL book and Scholastic haves helpful information on storytelling.

I think we all learned important things today. The boy: furniture does NOT come assembled and the instructions are useless

This and 2 other books defined my ‘quest‘ in life and continue to do so. #Tolstoy I stumbled upon in my Dad‘s collection when in High School and was my first real introduction to literary fiction. The writing was unlike anything I had read until then (think Nancy Drews, Archie‘s and Sweet Valley Twins🙈). It had me in a trance. #Empathy what a revelation! #LifeLesson #Classics #Riotgram #Day12

This is such a lovely book, and definitely another one from Deborah L. Delaronde that has impressed me. It has sweet messages about the wisdom of grandparents and the importance of friendship. The illustrations are gorgeous. This is perfect for all ages.
