I'm trying to read some shortish books to complete 2023 challenges - this leaves me with one prompt to fill for #popsugar23. This does #publishedinthesecondhalfof2023.

I wasn‘t the hugest fan of knots and crosses but I found it gripping and this whole series has the audiobooks available through my library so I imagine I‘ll end up reading more of them. I find Rebus a bit more on the annoying side of gritty than the cool side and the homophobia, while period accurate for the 80s I guess, isn‘t my fave. #scarathlon #skeletoncrew

What could be better than heading to Edinburgh with another episode in Rebus‘s life.

Rebus is always a good read. This one shows a bit of his family that we haven‘t seen before, and he reckons a bit with the impact of the army on soldiers‘ lives. This one does show its age in the technology (laptops plugged into the phone line to get internet) but the investigation techniques are timeless.

Kinda strange that my first Ian Rankin read is book #19 in the John Rebus series but I loved it and I will go back to the start of the series now so I guess I can be forgiven 😁
@PuddleJumper One of my March #Roll100 picks.
I met my goal of finishing 3 books for #EasterOMC. Thanks to @Clwojick and @LadyKatrina for hosting this fun challenge!
Inspector Rebus investigates the disappearance of a young woman who was involved in a mysterious online game. I liked the complexity of the mystery and the multiple facets of the investigation that involved several of Rebus's colleagues.

It‘s been a long time since I read rather than watched a Rebus. Didn‘t disappoint. An ageing Rebus and other familiar characters weave an interesting and plausible story. Now to find out what happens next. Soon I hope.
