Yes I have FINALLY finished a book, but to be fair life has been a little tough lately. This was a good Jane Yellowrock book as always. Yes I now have a beard, that‘s how long it took me to read a whole book - I grew a beard while it happened.

#SeriesLove2024 I actually have finished the Jane Yellowrock series and it got better with each book, eighteen in all. I encourage everyone who enjoys urban fantasy to give this series a shot. I‘m still listening to the Soulwood series which is a sister series of Jane Yellowrock. I‘m listening to the Mercy Thompson series and its sister series, Alpha and Omega. I‘m listening to Jim Butcher‘s Dresden Files and the Cinder Spires. (cont) ⬇️

CatLass007 James J. Butcher has a series called the Unorthodox Chronicles. I‘m listening to several mystery series: Temperance Brennan, Harry Bosch, Armand Gamache, and John Rebus. And I‘m over halfway through with the Dexter series. After I finish Dexter, I‘m not sure which of the series I‘ve mentioned I‘ll resume next, although I‘m leaning toward Gamache. 4mo

FINALLY got to finish a book! Missed reading any books altogether through winter uni break due to illness. I‘ve had my bookmark in this one for months and months. With so much happening in my life outside (and inside) of work and uni I just haven‘t had the chance to read a whole book. Well, I did read The Little Country by Charles de Lint. Anyway, so glad to be back, and reading. I missed it.

CONTAINS SPOILERS Another thrilling book in the Jane Yellowrock series. Like with any book some parts don‘t sit right, like the very awkward introduction of Adelaide, but I got very worried when - spoiler alert - Beast seemed to disappear after the spell to contain the raven demon was interrupted. A Jane Yellowrock book never disappoints, even if they are a tad long and a little rambling.

I chose the side book for #ParanormalLoveCrew this month as it was already on my list of books I should pick up.

It took me a little while to get into the 2 narrative styles, of Jane and Beast, but once I did I got totally sucked in.
I do love urban fantasy though!

Jane is a vampire killer, but is hired by vampires to take out a rogue. But during this mission she will also begin to discover more about her own nature and how she came to be.

I am posting one book per day from my to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new - don‘t judge me I have a lot of books.
Join the fun if you want. This is day 311.

The short version of my review is on the graphic.

The full review is longer than Litsy allows (although not too long for LibraryThing).

Book 3 in the Jane Yellowrock series. This book introduced werewolves and, unlike most other series, the werewolves didn‘t suck (as an overused and non-scary trope). This series reminds me of the Dresden Files but a bit darker.

DivineDiana That‘s some mask! 😳 3y

Jane Yellowrock saves the day again in the 2nd installment of the series.

Still just as fun and thrilling, plenty of action and humour... but was the love triangle necessary? It was a little messy in an otherwise very good book.

Other than that (and a few questionable but passing opinions I may not have agreed with) still a very good book.
