panThere are threads of an idea but it was poorly executed. It seemed the author was trying to explore the concept of fate” but it came across as a cheap plot device. Combined with a lack of world-building, poor pacing, flat characters, and predictable plot with no real purpose, this was a disappointing read. I basically skimmed most of it just to finish it & get it off my shelf.
