Frankenstein: City of Night: A Novel | Dean Koontz, Ed Gorman
post image

I really enjoyed book 1 of Dean Koontz's Frankenstein series. Book 2 wasn't bad, I just didn't like it as much. I still want to read the rest of the series; there's great characters in these books! Set in present day, the "monster" Deucalion, aided by 2 police officers, tries to prevent his creator Victor Helios (aka Frankenstein) from unleashing a genetically engineered New Race on humanity. #octphotochallenge #classicmoviemonster #madscientist

Texreader I've added book one to me tbr list 7y

Ooh all the smelly children! Some days the #classicmoviemonster ish witch from the witches feels all to relatable. 😉 but for real, anyone else obsessed with chocolate cheese 🧀 after this book? Pretty good stuff! Pic from Quentin Blakes drawings, because what is RD without QB? #octphotochallenge #AllHallowsRead #YAorChildrensHalloween

#octphotochallenge #classicmoviemonster #vampires

Vampires are my favourite classic monsters. What I love about the vampires in the Guild Hunter Series, is their unconventional origins! In this series, the vampires are made by angels and archangels using a toxin they produce. Humans wishing to become a vampire must pass the checks and agree to serve the angel for 100 years.

Naasir is a 600 year old vampire with some very feline traits... 💕🎃

EloisaJames Is this already out?? 7y
Bookworm54 @EloisaJames It is :) in fact the next one, Archangel's Heart is due out very soon! 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa I agree this series and Kate Daniels by Ilona Andrews have some of the most unique vampires I've seen in fiction. 7y

I recently read Frankenstein on Serial Reader. I feel like it's a book I put off for much too long, and after seeing so many versions of Frankenstein's monster over the years, I have to say the book wasn't exactly what I expected. I definitely enjoyed it!

Bookzombie I'm reading it on Serial reader right now. 🙂 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa I agree with that! 7y

JoeStalksBeck Just watched 1408. That movie is messed up! 7y
Bookzombie @sprainedbrain Same! @MaryAnn1 😀@book_addict I'm trying to remember if I watched all of that one. Maybe I covered my eyes with my fingers through part of it. 😳 7y
JoeStalksBeck @MaryAnn1 It's the one where John Cusak gets stuck in the haunted hotel room forever 7y

Dracula is my favorite #classicmoviemonster. I haven't read this one yet, but it looks good. #octphotochallenge

BookishFeminist I love the cover! 7y
DiruVamp I've seen this and am very curious to hear what you think. I'm still undecided. 7y
Texreader @BookishFeminist I think the cover is what convinced me to buy this one. It must be good, right? 7y

Texreader @DiruVamp I'll have to let you know. I bought it on curb appeal so we will have to see. I'm a Dracula purist so I like Stoker and Kostova's The Historian. I'm not inclined to go too far afield. 7y
DiruVamp @Texreader I feel the same way! 7y
