I apologize that I haven‘t been posting very consistently on here. But I wanted to pop in for an update. I did get to visit the Libros Book Lounge I posted about previously for the first time tonight and it was lovely. I wish I had gotten more photos to share, but the thing is… I‘m awkward and self conscious 😂 I loved it and I will be back. 🖤📖🦇

Very good MG with some tough stuff. I came close to crying several times. Hercules has a school assignment to recreate the Twelve Labors of the mythical Hercules. It‘s a challenge, but it makes Herc learn about himself and how to process losing his parents. TW for death of parents and harm to animals (not by humans, all natural, but nature is kind of a bitch in this case).
The story just plodded along and then WHAM!!!! Completely unexpected occurrence and some excitement. And then bom ba de da bom ba de da back to plodding along to the end.

Middle grade fiction. Excellent characters. Several difficult and/or very tragic events were a little too much for me. Very good audio narration.
I‘m a fan of Kristan Higgins for funny, uncomplicated storylines. This is a little too trite.
