#camptob2019 Are any of you following along? I‘ve read all except the tagged book which I am currently reading. The most thought provoking are the titles from Valeria Luiselli and Susan Choi. Were I a judge, I‘d go with either one.🤔

Zelma I totally forgot about this. Thanks for the reminder! (edited) 4mo
Rachel_nyc My library isn‘t being as cooperative as I‘d like so I am totally behind and will read through as I am able to get to the books. I am going to start Bowlaway later this week and have the others on hold. I‘m still undecided about whether to read the Marlon James novel. I can‘t wait to hear your thoughts on it. (edited) 4mo
Ruthiella @Zelma You‘re welcome! 4mo

Ruthiella @Rachel_nyc Ah library holds! Sometimes they give and sometimes they giveth not!🤪 I got lucky though I did buy American Spy. But I think it‘s good to throw a debut author some cash. 4mo
merelybookish I have not been very good about reading these. Trust Exercise is the only one I want to read and Ive already read Lost Children Archive. I figure I'll read the winner. 4mo
Megabooks I tried to read Trust Exercise and didn‘t like it. I read Daisy when it came out. Definitely not worth all the praise it‘s getting. So far, a bust. ☹️ 4mo
Suet624 I bailed on Bowlaway and read Daisy Jones. Hoping to get Lost Children soon from the library. 4mo
Redwritinghood So far I‘ve only read Trust Exercise and Lost Children Archives, which was brilliant. I‘ve started but not finished Bowlaway and Black Leopard. 4mo
Ruthiella @merelybookish I totally skipped the summer TOB last year. Your strategy is a good one. So many books so little time!😀 4mo
Ruthiella @Suet624 Bowlaway was a little too quirky for me personally. I hope you like Lost Children. It‘s a book that gave me a lot of food for thought. 4mo
Ruthiella @Redwritinghood So you‘ve read the winner then 🤣 I predict Luiselli now. Black Leopard isn‘t really my cup of tea, though it is growing on me some. 4mo
BarbaraBB I can‘t find the time this year, though I normally love the Summer ToB. I read only Daisy, which gets way too much praise. I have Lost Children on my shelves and am interested in American Spy and Bowlaway. What made me decide to skip this summer, is that I should have to read Black Leopard. I really don‘t want to. I will read the winner in September though! 4mo
BkClubCare Ach! American Spy and Lost Children came same day from library and I am only a few pages into the latter - probably won‘t finish before due. And I have just been notified that Trust Exercise is ready for pickup. I can‘t read that fast and might have to skip all three. 😥 4mo
Ruthiella @BarbaraBB I love the TOB in general because when I participate it makes me read current books. But it is a reading commitment for sure! LOL I didn‘t love Daisy either... I wish I could have tried the audio but the wait list was too long! 4mo
Ruthiella @BkClubCare I hate it when holds all come in like a rush like that! Of the three you mentioned only American Spy can be read “quickly “ IMO. It‘s plot heavy. 4mo
BarbaraBB I‘ll follow your thoughts on the Tournament and am looking forward to your review of this one! (edited) 4mo
Ruthiella @Megabooks I also thought Daisy was just OK though I get why others loved it. Too bad about Trust Exercise. I enjoyed it but I had to read the second part to reach that enjoyment. 4mo
thebluestocking You‘re a machine!! 💙 I‘ve only read Daisy and then have only been able to get my hands on Bowlaway. I‘m following along with the weekly commentary though. And I‘ll definitely read the winner, of course. 4mo
Ruthiella @thebluestocking The temptation was just too great not to read them all! 😀 4mo
BkClubCare @Ruthiella - Ok, good to know. I have to July 9 but my parents are visiting 😜 4mo
thebluestocking I‘m really hoping Lost Children Archive takes it. 1mo
Ruthiella @thebluestocking LCA would be my prediction though I think my personal pick would be Trust Exercise. 1mo

So have you seen this yet? The announcement of Camp ToB 2019. We have until May 13 to vote for the six Summer reads. The selection is unconventional of course, I‘ve read none except for Daisy Jones! What books are you voting for? #camptob2019

Megabooks Thanks for the tag!! I‘ll have to look! 5mo
Ruthiella OMG so excited! Thanks for the heads up! I‘ve not read any but will definitely vote for Trust Exercise since I have it on hold at the library!!! 5mo
saresmoore This is so fun! I am intrigued by at least six of the selections. 5mo

merelybookish Yes! This popped up on Facebook. Ive only read one (Lost Children Archive). I mostly avoided voting for some titles: the Marlon James book because I don't want to read it 😬 and Bowlaway because I keep seeing bad reviews. 5mo
BarbaraBB @Ruthiella That one sounds good indeed. One of my six votes! 5mo
BarbaraBB @saresmoore Such weird choices, but intriguing indeed! 5mo
BarbaraBB @merelybookish I voted for Lost Childrens Archive because I have a copy. I don‘t want to read the Marlon James neither and Bowalaway sounds too weird to my taste. I am really curious to see where this will go! 5mo
saresmoore @merelybookish @BarbaraBB I agree re: Marlon James and Bowlaway. I‘ll be interested to see what gets chosen! 5mo
Rachel_nyc So fun! I haven‘t read any yet but a few were on my radar. I need to look up the others before voting. 5mo
merelybookish @saresmoore @BarbaraBB Ive also seen mixed review of Trust Exercise but the criticisms intrigue me. Unlike Bowlaway which just sounds weird 5mo
Redwritinghood I haven‘t read any of them, so I just voted for the ones I own and haven‘t yet read. 5mo
Suet624 Thank you for tagging me. I got the email about it but I haven‘t looked yet. I‘m very excited. 5mo
batsy This is so fun! I didn't vote for the James and McCracken and so I'm relieved to see your comments @merelybookish 😆 I want to read the Luiselli and Choi books. 5mo
merelybookish @batsy Im thrilled to see I'm not alone in my opinions! 5mo
BkClubCare Yes! I immediately clicked over and voted super quick. Many look great. I really liked Bowlaway 5mo
BkClubCare And.... seeing now that many are not interested in Bowlaway. I love quirkiness - it was so right up my alley (ha - bowling reference! #sorrynotsorry) 5mo
BarbaraBB @BkClubCare Now I feel tempted to read it just because you like it! 5mo
thebluestocking Yes! I‘m so excited! I really want to read Bowlaway but not the James. But other than that, I will just be excited to see what books make it in. It‘ll be a fun way to spend the summer. 💙 5mo
