Post 2/3. #best17of2017

batsy Oh, I was so curious about Six Wakes! It's nice to see it on your list... I definitely want to read it now. 6y
parasolofdoom @batsy it was a cool combination of locked room mystery and sci-fi, I'm surprised it didn't get more buzz. 6y

These are the best 17 books I read this year. I read many great ones so it was difficult to choose just 17! They are in the order I read them, with the most recent at the top. #17of2017 #best17of2017

MariettaSG Barbara the slut and other people, caught my eye, stacked. 6y
wellreadredhead @MariettaSG All of the stories in that book are amazing! 6y

Strange the Dreamer | Laini Taylor

My top pick is Strange the Dreamer, but can't stop talking about Soul of an Octopus. Long Way Down blew my mind, Call Me By Your Name still has me hot and angsty, Aristotle and Dante was the sweetest first-love story, This is a Poem that Heals fish defies description. Corbin was a tender story and Fear the Drowning Deep was an Irish folktale that never was. #best17of2017 2/2

MisterWhitaker Love the idea of a best seventeen! Really cool list I can't wait to add. 6y
Nutmegnc @MisterWhitaker thanks! I wish I could take credit. I stole the idea from another litten but can't remember who! 6y
Nutmegnc @MisterWhitaker it was great fun to do, though! 6y

BkClubCare What a great reading year! I am inconsolable with grief and jealousy that this wasn't a better reading year FOR ME. Ok, I am mourning the fact that I won't get even five books read (f I am that lucky) on the TOB. #whining On the other hand? Somehow, I have read almost 90 books this year. Huh 6y
Nutmegnc @BkClubCare you may not have gotten as many TOB read as you wanted but 90!!!! That's amazing!!! I am proud of my 110. Granted, they are not all literary fiction (ahem) but reading!! 6y
BkClubCare @Nutmegnc - Considering what “life events” we both endured... 6y
Nutmegnc No kidding @BkClubCare !!! 6y

Den of Wolves | Juliet Marillier

New books by Garth Nix, Goldenhand and sarah J Maas, Tower of Dawn. Juliet Marllier's last, and best , of the series Blackthorne and Grim. Her excellent Raven Flight. Cat Sebastian 'a gay historical romance. Jordan Hawk's fantasy gay romance Undertow, and Renee Adiyeh's retelling of the story of Scheherazade. The atmospheric, superb, and surprising Dream-Quest of Vellit Boe and the unexpected The Girl from Everywhere. #best17of2017 1/2

BkClubCare Hey - I read Renee Adiyeh's first in that series? Did we discuss that? Is this the 2nd? 6y
Nutmegnc @BkClubCare i didn't know you read that! The second was better!! And just as gorgeous as the first one. 6y
BkClubCare @Nutmegnc - good to know. Adiyeh lives in NC, I think... 6y
Nutmegnc @BkClubCare I saw her and Sarah Maas speak in Winston Salem. That's how I found out about her 6y
