#BBRC #A2Z wrap up! I read 54 picture books; it was hard to stop at just one for most letters! Tagged a favorite, but almost everything was a solid 👍read.

I love the growing diversity in picture books. Characters included LGBT, Muslim, deaf, PoC, immigrants, Jewish, blended families, strong female characters, and more! Topics include: white privilege, poverty, segregation, the immigrant experience, and inclusive fairy tale retellings. 💜

The Rainbow Fish | Marcus Pfister

I really enjoyed reading this MF about a beautiful rainbow fish that discovers happiness through sharing and being kind to others. This book has a very good message about the power of being kind and that being rude does not get one anywhere. This book is good for S because props can be incorporated while reading the book so help students be drawn to the book and be focused.

fquadri EL strategy 4 can be used to ask students questions on what they know about sharing and kindness and make connections to their personal experiences. UDL strategy 2.5 can be used for this book because the teacher can use media to facilitate the lesson.
This website offers a read aloud by the well known Hollywood actor Ernest Borgnine.

fquadri He reads the book with great expression which can capture the attention of youngsters because it feels like they are watching a movie. The read aloud has no words but it shows the audience pictures of the book, while the actor narrates the text to them.

I remember reading this book as a child. This book could be used in classrooms to benefit students to demonstrate the act and kindness of sharing. This book is a MF written and illustrated by Marcus Pfister. #ucflae3414su19. The Rainbow Fish has won the Christopher Award, the Bologna Book Fair Critici in Erba Prize, American Booksellers Association ABBY Winner, and an IRA-CBC Children's Choice.

Myiab This book is perfect for S and RA's. https://www.education.com/lesson-plan/the-rainbow-fish/ . This website supports the UDL 3.1 (activate or supply background knowledge) and EL 4 (link lesson topic to students‘ prior knowledge). Students will be able to answer comprehension questions about a story and identify feelings using prior knowledge. 1w

I wasn‘t sure what to post for this #bfcr2 photo challenge, i thought ‘self help‘ and I don‘t read those. Then I thought of books that made me want to develop the mental health, confidence and energy to lead a meaningful life.

Fitness and self love will give me the energy to live a life that‘s good for the world and demonstrates how you can love your body healthily for ppl who need it 💖 easier to change the world if you don‘t get out of breath

I very much enjoyed this book. So many twists and turns, back and forths. Some I saw coming, some were surprises. A tough one to put down, as it was quite a ride and completely satisfied with how it played out.

Sometimes I get too cold inside so I just have sit on the porch for a little while 💕

Slajaunie Love your nails! I wish I could sit outside. It is in the 90‘s here with humidity that could kill. Enjoy your reading! 2w
ButtBarn @Slajaunie thank you! Yeah I wouldn‘t sit outside if I were you either! Luckily it was kind of a rainy day so not that hot here ☺️ 2w

This book was so much fun! I wish there could have been a third book or continuation of the story. I would recommend reading both books. Strong female lead, magical, adventure, and diverse cast. #poc #strongfemalelead #dragons #beauty #summerread #romance #adventure

The pictures alone make this a 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 read! I think I spent 5 minutes just gazing at the cover, absorbing the different glasses, clothes, bodies, facial expressions. Little text, but big impact. Sporty is represented by a person with a prosthetic leg, which I 💜. Dedication was also 👍👍.

#bbrc #picturebook #a2z Letter F:

The beautiful illustrations were the best part of this book for me. The two children go out to find The Wild. It has a beautiful message to seek out adventure, and how the wild can be found even in urban environments. Even if the wild sometimes includes ouchy or itchy things, beauty is right around the corner.

Doesn‘t quite fit my theme for this part of the challenge, but it was still lovely.
