October Bookclub pick. Half the room said they didn't like it. And the other half (the correct half) said they enjoyed the book.
It seems those of us who went in blind, enjoyed it a lot more than those with expectations.
I quite enjoyed it. I really liked Billie. I would love to see a POV from Vance Gilchrist and Helen.
The chapters with the Catachombs were my favorite.

I enjoyed this fast-paced book. It's more like Golden Girls meet John Wick vibes. It was a fun ride from start to finish. The author gave real auntie vibes to be story. I felt like I could see these women as my aunts and grandma. The transition from past to present wasn't overcomplicated or made you feel lost. It was a smooth transition to give you a little more depth to each of the 4 women. 4 out of 5 for me.

A slow start to my week with some cleaning, baking blueberry muffins with the last of my birthday gift from my oldest ( his summer job is in cottage country where the best wild blueberries grow and he buys me an over priced basket as an annual gift ) and audio books. Not mad at all with my day. I love this series and this, the 2nd, gets us more acquainted with the assassins, their previous jobs and modern ones that tie in

Y‘all can keep your pumpkin spice fall vibes, I want summer

Just heard “dressed like Anthony Andrews in “Bridsehead Revisited” “I‘m not sure I could kill anyone carrying around a teddy bear” ❤️❤️❤️ I love it when my reads intersect #hashtagbrigade

I didn‘t like this one as much as the first — the plot felt convoluted and overly complicated, and similar to the first in that it pulled on events from the past. The characters were still funny and engaging, but the story lacked the spark of the first book. I might still read another, but it would have to do something different to get me interested.

This was great fun — a real caper, with engaging characters, lots of witty humour, and a nicely complex plot. I did figure out the twist but it didn‘t spoil my enjoyment in particular. I loved Billie‘s voice, and each lady had her own personality that gave the story depth and shape. The “menopaws” app just killed me😂 Flipping over to the sequel! And I LOVE the cover.

Here‘s the follow up to Assassins Anonymous of about a year ago. Same cast of characters who are trying to find and rescue a member of their group. We go back and forth between what they‘re doing and what the captured person is doing to save herself. More light reading, fun characters, but a soft pick.
