One of my intentions for 2024 was to do more re-reading, and now in mid(late) February, I've finally started one.
I read this back in 2018. I don't remember much except feeling confused. 🙃 It's Wynne Jones's retelling of Tam Lin, a fairy tale I apparently am drawn to.

#NewYearNewBooks

It‘s been years since I read this one but the dark fae or scary #Fairies 😉 still come to mind. I remember liking the fairytale meets dark academia vibe. 🥀🧚

Eggs Sounds compelling! 3mo
Laughterhp Oo yes! I loved this book! 3mo

I'm hoping at some point I will irritate someone enough they'll tell me how to make the covers tilt. 😂 #ThingsInCommon

A reread for me and I still love it so much. I particularly love having taken the time to reread a chunkster and not think about the number of books I might have been reading in that time. Quality over quantity for the win!

willaful @faranae This is my “book based on oral tradition“ #URC2023 entry. (edited) 12mo
Faranae Oooo, good choice for that prompt!

Also, I am not irritated at all; I firmly believe you should precisely as much time as you want to into social graphics, which might be 0 minutes and results in untilted covers. Since you want to know, though: if you're on canva on a computer, left click the cover and to one side (usually the right), a little rotation button will turn up, two arrows pointing in a circle. Left click that to rotate.

willaful I have found the rotation button but it never seems to do anything. 🧐 I'll have to experiment. 12mo

My love & appreciation for this re-telling of the Scottish ballad Tam Lin set at a Midwestern liberal arts college in the 1970s deepens each time I re-read it. If you ever romanticize/feel nostalgia for the university life, this book is for you! It describes a lost & rarified version of the life of an English major. A meaty, magical read, perfect for autumn! Expect I'll get a craving to read it again in a few years! #192025 @Librarybelle

sarahbarnes I‘ve never read this, but based on your description I really need to! Sounds like my kind of book. 1y
batsy 💕 @sarahbarnes It's one of my favourites. I hope you give it a try! 1y
sarahbarnes @batsy with recommendations from you both, I am definitely going to! 1y

merelybookish @sarahbarnes Definitely worth a try! Especially since you attended a Midwestern liberal arts college! 😀 1y
merelybookish @batsy It just keeps getting better. Also, it's funny to me how much I forget between each reading! 🙃 1y

Grey October day and I've dug out an old comfort read. (Also look at my gorgeous rust-coloured mums that *just* bloomed and will probably be zapped by frost next week.)

AmyG Your view is lovely. 2y

merelybookish @batsy I almost tagged you! 😅 I love this book too! And I usually dislike fairy take retellings. 2y
Centique Those flowers! My mother would always choose those colours for her pots - just lovely. Also I have this book on my TBR and must get to it! 1y
