I‘ve had a wonderful (if slightly unusual for me) reading year. I gave my reading whims free rein and ended up reading mostly vintage books, classic literature, and “spinster lit” from mid-twentieth century Britain( @batsy will approve of the latter, right? 😆) I pretty much ignored anything that was recently published.🤔

LeahBergen @DGRachel Those were pretty much the only challenges I set this year, too (and it was very freeing!) “Spinster lit” as a term/genre was coined by @batsy and encompasses pretty much any fiction dealing with women living on their own and finding out that that can be A-okay. 😆😆 Think Barbara Pym, EF Benson, Elizabeth Taylor, Angela Thirkell, Winifred Holtby and probably anything published by Virago or Persephone. 😆 5y

LeahBergen @erzascarletbookgasm I‘m going to do the same as you for challenges next year, too. Just an easy GR target (and an easy Mount TBR target) and maybe one other. I like to keep my time open to jump in on buddy reads as they come along, as well. 😄 5y
