The Sun Sister | Lucinda Riley

Mehso-so

I did manage to finish this before Audible took it from the Plus program. It was slightly better than The Moon Sister, but, because Electra becomes interested in the causes of civil rights and drug abuse prevention, Riley becomes overly pedantic about those causes, making the book drag. Learning about the Happy Valley Set in Africa was interesting, however. They were some unhappy people. Started Ashley Winstead‘s The Last Housewife. #audiowalk

First book of a series. This is a sweet romance story especially for book lovers, plant lovers, and gardeners. There is a central romance between Savannah and Evan, but Savannah‘s elderly aunt finds herself in a romance as well. There is a huge, supportive community of neighbors and friends in this book-all with subplots of their own-and I‘m very excited to follow their stories as each book in this series is released.

Fourth Wing has an excellent twist presented on the final page. So, even with my qualms about it, I finished it with a smile and a respectful tip of the hat in Yarros‘s direction. Full review: https://keepingupwiththepenguins.com/fourth-wing-rebecca-yarros/

#LittensLoveSJM #ToG Book 3 Ch.34-36: Rowan and Celaena are making progress with each other. Turns out Rowan has lost his mate - which is the worst thing that can happen to Fae I think. No wonder he‘s so hard. Celaena has started to feel a connection to him in that they‘ve both suffered loss and need to crawl their way out of the abyss. Perhaps they can do it together. What he felt for his mate I think Celaena felt for Sam and even Nehemia. ⬇️

StayCurious Aedion and Chaol are closer to discovering how the King got rid of magic. The king must be a keen study to have figured out how to do that. Did he have help? Or did he just control those around him? 9h
BarkingMadRead Ugh am I going to end up liking Rowan? 8h

StayCurious @BarkingMadRead it‘s hard to believe but … maybe? 8h
BarkingMadRead @StayCurious I will be so so mad 🤣🤣🤣 8h
Laughterhp I like that Emrys sticks up for her and has no problem yelling at Rowan. All of a sudden I‘m supposed to feel sympathy for Rowan?! He better do more than just tell her he lost her mate for me to like him. 8h
LiseWorks Aha! So now I feel really bad for Rowan, I knew there was a reason for the way he is. And Aedion is not bad after all. You can't judge a person without knowing them. 8h
Butterfinger I thought Ren's story was pitiful. How far he's fallen just to survive. 7h
Littlewolf1 Not gonna lie, I deal with pain with getting tattoos too. Not the same type, but the same concept. I‘m glad they were able to take this and open up, and then she got a couple good swings in there during this round. They‘re obviously both dealing with my struggle of self-worth, but I like the idea of them healing together. 2h

Oh my GOD UGH. This one almost had me crying at work. Just…the way the characters interact, you can *feel* the history between them. Shanghai is described in ways where I can see the tensions rising between all the groups, and while I had the main antagonist lowkey spoiled for me (my fault, I went snooping), it was still such a satisfying end to the duo. Can‘t wait to continue on with the others!!

TheBookHippie Yup. I adore the whole series. 8h

Lies, betrayal, and true friendship! I thought this was a great read — lots of action and really rich characters with lots of development. The plot was complex and tangled, with a great twist at the end of the story. Maybe a few pacing problems, but overall a really good read.
