The last paragraph is interesting: "I consider that empty space at the poem‘s end as merely the beginning. It represents the place where you and I choose either to speak up or be silent on behalf of a free and inclusive society -- ⬇️ 4d

dabbe @Cuilin You don't have to read if you don't want to, my friend. It's a heart-wrencher, but the best book I have ever read about the Dust Bowl period. 🩵🩶🩵 1w

Cuilin Oh I‘m “enjoying” it. So many people have said it‘s very depressing, but Goodreads describes it as a “tribute to hope and inner strength”. I‘ll continue. For now anyway. Plus, I plan on reading the Grapes of Wrath, in Nov with the #HashBrigade. Same time period, correct? 1w
