Kat Rowe is a Deacon at the church in the village of Eyam and she is married to Leon a local pharmacist. They find a dead body of a man and a beaten woman in the alleyway behind the pharmacy. Kat takes the woman in after her house is set on fire and soon the pair start investigating the murder.
