Skip Beat! 20 | Yoshiki Nakamura

I went straight from breakfast to the Children‘s Hospital Book Market, where I knocked four things off my wishlist! Alas, nobody donated anything by Charles Stross or Kay Kenyon (my two big book hunt targets at the mo), but I was glad to give the sick kids some money and fill out my personal Skip Beat! library at the same time.

Story of a young cat and a young woman. Very well written and excellent drawing!
Trigger warning: animal abuse

Caught up to where I‘ve purchased, and have passed the anime. Up to and including Shibuya, was a ride, but I‘m finding the Culling Game off to a rocky start. The new characters are subpar (intrigued by one) and the setup just seems hokey. So far we have a Shibuya with convoluted rules… so a Hunger Games. I‘m sticking with it because the lead up was amazing, and the story is still moving forward. But these two volumes were def a drop in quality.

Cute story about a very private man who bakes snacks for his exuberant boyfriend and worries about being outed to his overenthusiastic receptionist, who means well but is a bit obtuse

Don't mind @WildAlaskaBibliophile creeping in the background...
I enjoyed volume 2. A good chunk is still dealing with flashbacks of their history, but they are starting to show more of their lives together and navigating their marriage. While the marriage is for show, there are still feelings involved in cohabitating.

WildAlaskaBibliophile LOL! @tiedyedude indulged me in my photo-bombing shenanigans. It looks like I'm trying to be a wall. Ha! 2mo

Still cute and adorable in this volume. Chi is all about playing with her friends outside. Yohei runs away and Chi is afraid of something brought into the house. Graphics are still awesome and absolutely love this series!
