Silly but very fun YA alternative history depicting the three children of Henry VIII and Lady Jane Grey. Unlike the recent TV series (of which I have only watched one episode but will now resume), this is perfectly suitable for my history-loving 10 year old. I loved the elements of magic and that [spoiler alert], unlike the true history, many of my favourites get happy endings.

A lovely break from my Booker reading.

What did I just read? I had been wanting to read this book for a while. It was a huge letdown for me. I won't be continuing this series. I rated this book a 2 out of 5 stars.

When I first read this book many years ago, I absolutely loved the story, characters, and humor. I still feel the same after reading this for the second time, however it did lose a little bit of its magic after the initial read. Regardless, I still really enjoy this book and look forward to watching the new television series based off of it!

Absolutely LOVED the My Lady Jane adaptation on Prime. Easily one of the best shows of the year, and I love a mix of genres.

I'm reading My Lady Jane before watching the series! Enjoying it so far. Note that it's fantasy, not realistic historical fiction.

I have read quite a bit about Jane, and only one or two other books about Katherine and Mary, so I was kept interested. With regards to Elizabeth I, this book sure looked at a different side to her, where she was so very worried about being outsted by others in her family to take over the throne. Katherine and Mary were next in line since Elizabeth had no children (alongside Mary of Scots). I listened to the audio and had no problem with it.

2nd in trilogy - was ok, bit weaker than the first, but will finish the trilogy.
