panHeller‘s prose had serious potential but the never ending storylines and rambling tangents all seem to have #nothingincommon with one another or the major plot line. Add in a disastrously constructed mystery, a female MC very poorly written by a man, and some far-fetched situations (an old lady with emphysema scaring off a drunk, rowdy biker gang 🙄), and you have yourself this failure of a novel.

JamieArc I‘ve seen other reviews similar to yours. So disappointing (that it‘s bad). This book really piqued my interest but after seeing so many negative reviews, no time to give it a shot. 6y

Susannah I'm sorry it was so disappointing. I read his book, The Painter, a couple of years ago in which every woman was ga-ga about the male MC. I cannot imagine what Heller would do with a female MC. Just ... no. 😖 (edited) 6y
