Pickpick

Overall, this was a good narrative history for general readers. History buffs or those with academic level history backgrounds will likely find it less interesting. One caveat-I read an ARC version of this so I'm assuming the couple of factual errors were fixed in editing.

I've been reading this a little at a time before bed so I thought I'd try to read more during #20in4 but I fell asleep before getting much read last night. Here's hoping today goes a little better for reading!

This was interesting in places but a bit dry. However I think it would have helped with one of my BA English Lit modules, and may be of interest to my current #lmpbc group, especially after you've read Bedlam by Paul Chambers. @Mrs_B @Powered_By_Plants @veritysalter

I'd recommend a #borrownotbuy though 😂

I thought this was an excellent reassessment of the role of the Dudleys in history. Particularly liked the way that Wilson reinterpreted Starkey's idea that the Dudleys were like ivy feeding off Henry VIII to the monarchy actually feeding off the Dudleys. Wilson avoids prejudice. The only criticism is the lack of illustrations, but I love a historic portrait.
