Spring in my yard today!

To The Dandelion
Dear common flower, that grow‘st beside the way,
Fringing the dusty road with harmless gold!
First pledge of of blithesome May,…
-James Russel Lowell

Wow, I am at a loss of words with this story. I traded this book at my neighborhood‘s book bin and fell in love. This is a RF book following the seeds of a dandelion as it visits every continent and continues forward.

This would be an awesome RA to foster collaboration and community (8.3)UDL. I would achieve this by showing the impact of one dandelion and how we are all connected together.

Mmurphy For my EL Students, I would incorporate their culture in my lesson by talking about the different communities in our story (24.)

Mmurphy This book was just published in 2021 so there aren‘t any resources for it just yet however I will include the link so you can purchase it yourself. I personally think this is a great read for an Earth day activity and highly recommend. I think we will be hearing more about this book in the future. https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/little-dandelion-seeds-the-world-julia-richards... 5y
DrSpalding It looks like you made an excellent trade! I have added this to my stack. This would be a fabulous book to use during a geography unit… Excellent book selection and post. 5y

Today is National Crayon Day; and Crayola is retiring "Dandelion" from its 24-Color set. There will be an addition to the blue family in May. Can't wait for other Litsyans to reveal more throughout the day. Can't believe I had the nerve to frame this monstrosity. It's my first attempt at adult coloring from a few months ago. Now I have a PrismaColor set; so my projects will come out better. #NationalCrayonDay #Dandelion

Sace No dandelion?😔😢 9y
moranadatter Hooray for new art supplies! Have you tried them out yet? 9y
Lynnsoprano My dad was the color chemist for Crayola when they formulated the original 64 colors. I get depressed every time they retire a color. 9y

rockpools @Lynnsoprano That is spectacularly cool! But sorry about the Dandelion 😕 9y
Donna_sBookMinute Wow. Bet that job made your dad "the MAN" in your young eyes ?? Yes, I can see how you'd be so connected. Great story. 9y
Donna_sBookMinute @Sace and @RachelO -- Yes, it sounded sad when I heard it in the morning news. I tend to use any shade of yellow as a complimentary color. And I'm actually not a fan of blue (the new shade that will be introduced in May) at all. 9y
Donna_sBookMinute 👉🏽 @moranadatter -- Not yet. I was waiting to add some others I found. They can be used wet or dry. Seems I should just dive and work with what I've got. 9y
Lynnsoprano @Donna_sBookMinute Yes, and with all the kids in our neighborhood. They called him Mr. Crayon 9y
