#HaikuADay #HaikuHive
I broke my Sunday “pjs only” rule today to meet friends for Mexican at a not-that-new-but-new-to-me place in my neighborhood. The enchiladeas suizas were worth being dressed & in public & inspired today‘s haiku.

I‘m going to try to get back on track with my daily haikus since October went a bit off the rails. Today‘s is inspired by breakfast with an old & dear friend where we caught up at a neighborhood spot we hadn‘t been to in ages.
There‘s comfort in things staying the same, the same abruptly friendly service, same coffee & biscuit with honey butter…
Nostalgia served warm,
Comfort friend and comfort food,
Heartfelt Saturday

I recently invested in a 1.2kg jar of kimchi so I can make the kimchi noodles from DELICIOUS TONIGHT for a bit cheaper. They and the spicy peanut noodles are my most-made recipes from the book and also one of the few things that come out basically the same colour as Nagi‘s example photo.
I usually add mustard tubers in place of bean sprouts, but I keep forgetting to buy more so last night‘s noodles were a LITTLE less substantial. Still delish.

My #allhallowsread swap will in the hands of the person it is head to this weekend.
It was a fun one to put together!

Another DELICIOUS TONIGHT recipe that‘s a totally different colour from the example photo. What filter does she even use? Or are ingredients just radically different colours in Australia than they are in Canada? Here, curry powder‘s yellow and peanut butter‘s brown. They‘re the dominant ingredients in this baked chicken satay, which WAS delicious even if it was browny-yellow instead of a pretty red. (Also, I forgot the cilantro on top.)
