🩷 a great one!! Beautiful development along with healthy thinking! Emma Lord has done her own internal work & you can tell from the characters‘ deep (and relatable) reflections. I just wish there was a little growth outside the grief, but in my mind she gets there next year 😉 Also MILO AND HIS FAMILY > 🥰

My lovely bride and I just re-read this first novel by the brilliant Donna Tartt. And, wow, it really stands the test of time.

Audio books helping with Costco runs $300 doesn‘t buy a lot ( this story just took a TURN 😳)

KadaGul I think 🤔 the new magical number #️⃣for Costco is $500. Pre-Covid $300 got you 2-3 weeks of groceries 🏪 easily. #InflationisReal 6d
bookandbedandtea Costco is a nightmare! (Both from a people standpoint and a financial one.) Yay for audiobooks! 6d
mcctrish @KadaGul I think you are right. I didn‘t buy any fresh meat/chicken/fish this time, it was more a mid ‘big shop‘ shop 6d
mcctrish @bookandbedandtea it was chaos today! So Many People 🤯 I timed if for mid morning to avoid the keeners who want in when it opens and the later morning ones who stay for lunch but instead I got every body ever 6d

Rainbow Rowell is and will always be one of my favorite authors. I always feel like I'm experiencing her for the first time - everytime because the world building is so complete. Even with the Fangirl turned graphic novels I knew how it would end but gah, the heartstrings, you know? Just hated waiting for each volume.

(longer explanation in the comments 👇🏻. Short version is this:) I wanted to try New Adult for a while. So I gave this m/m-college-sports-romance a go. Good points: I liked the setting and the dynamics. Bad points: The language felt overly cheesy at times and the sex scenes were quite unrealistic. But nonetheless, I am glad that I read it. Soft pick.

yourfavouritemixtape Last month I needed something light and for the heart. Usually in these moments I grab a romance novel that‘s getting a lot of attention in that moment. Usually I end up rolling my eyes, not being totally satisfied. I have a hard time with romance, as I get easily annoyed by stereotypes. In my teenage years I read tons of m/m romance as it works better for me with the usual couple-dynamics. And there are less stereotypes. 1w
yourfavouritemixtape So while this isn‘t the best book I‘ve read, I am really glad I found this „genre“ for me again. The next time I need something like this, I know exatctly where to head 🙂 1w
