Made it to page 39 and had to stop. Boring, not my type of genre I like.

I started reading this with so much expectations considering the high ratings everywhere. But, it turned out to be such a dull. Two men, one architect and one serial killer, the only common factor was they were both in Chicago.
It should have been 2 separate books for completely separate audiences. “Depraved“ was such a great book on H H Holmes and completely satisfies the true crime, serial killer bug in you.

“It was so easy to disappear, so easy to deny knowledge, so easy in the smoke and fog of a great city to mask everything.”
— Erik Larson, The Devil in the White City
Truly interesting book centered on events of 1893, including Columbia Exposition, the first modern World‘s Fair. Book covers fashion and bicycles, architecture, baseball, famous rich people, sanitation with the building of a canal and reversing Chicago River, etc. A good read if interested!
Started a book on Chicgo which I just visited
