I really had fun filling in the form for @monalyisha ‘s #WitchPleaseSwap but it reminded me that I hadn‘t brought any good craft books in the longest time! Obviously I had to remedy that immediately. monalyisha Love this! I also came to “Practical Magic” first as a fan of the film. The book is *different* (some characters are mixed-up, & I want to talk about a specific plot element when you‘re done reading 😅) - but I love BOTH. I really enjoy Alice Hoffman‘s writing style. It‘s lyrical & descriptive so it doesn‘t feel too fluffy... but it‘s not intellectually-rigorous, either. Plus, I think she & I find the same kind of men attractive. 😉 (edited) 6y

Sophoclessweetheart @monalyisha By the time I was old enough to read the book I was worried it would be too different from the film and ruin one or the other for me. I always read the books first so to avoid this but obviously I watched it in the 90‘s as a child. 😹😹 I‘ve put off reading it for this reason though but I just need to know at this point 🙊😹🖤 6y

monalyisha @Sorceryandswords Ditto. Growing up, I used to watch it every Friday the 13th at my bff‘s house with her & her mom. It was a ritual. 🖤 And I was nervous to read the book, too, but I‘m so happy I did! (edited) 6y
