But she‘s betrayed by her mentor & almost killed before disappearing. The story picks up with her daughter in the 70s who‘s discovered her mother‘s previous life. Another beautiful cover painting, every book in this series is gorgeous!
#BookMail Pt1 (and part of the last I‘ll be buying for awhile!) is another of the #BloomsburyModernClassics series, The English Patient. I must admit, I‘ve only seen the movie with Ralph Feinnes & Kristen Scott Thomas, which I love, so I‘m looking forward to reading the novel. Set at the end of WWII, a French nurse is holed up in an Italian villa with her last patient, a horrifically burned Englishman who can‘t remember his name.
#BookMail today was this #BloomsburyModernClassics Edition of The Little Friend by Donna Tartt. I love these editions, the paper they use for the cover is gorgeous, like heavy watercolour paper, the French flaps & the beautiful paintings on the front cover all add up to one awesome book.
