OriginalCyn620 My all-time fave literary quote! ❤️❤️❤️ 7y
CrowCAH @CynthiaFBuck the whole book is a best blurb, but the scene where Lizzy rejects Mr. Darcy is my fav, so I quoted that! 7y

Well, after an admittedly cursory purusal of my physical books, I decided that the Washington Post wins #bestblurb #bestblurbs for their blurb on the back of Good Omens here. #seasonsreadings2016 #day6 @RealLifeReading

booksandcats13 Seems appropriate for that one 😂 7y
GlitteryOtters I don't know...that blurb from the Phoenix paper just sold me on it...! 7y
Seshat Thanks @bigdamnbookgeek @GlitteryOtters, yes, that one is perfect. 7y

In the Darkroom | Susan Faludi

Woohoo, Books of 2016 review!
"In the Darkroom" is new to me and looks complicated and fascinating: "Faludi attempted to untangle the gordian knot of her father‘s identity, not just as a trans woman, but as a fashion photographer and retoucher, an abusive husband, a Hungarian, and a Jew who returned to the homeland where she had once lived as a hunted minority under the Nazi regime." What a description!

So this was surprisingly difficult to settle on but I went with funny. I read this while pregnant with my son and I feel like it helped prepare me better for the gory details that other books sugar coated. lts my #bestblurb for today's #seasonsreadings.

#bestblurb I probably won't read this despite the compelling endorsement from Gary Shteyngart. #seasonsreadings2016

I couldn't find a #bestblurb so here is my favourite note in a secondhand book. "Bria! This is a really funny book, you should read it. German humour, anti-religious, with depth, strong feministic ties and lots of pseudoerotic stories about nuns. Thought of you when I read it. Happy birthday, 30 is a good age, love Jan." I feel like I could be friends with Bria and Jan. #SeasonsReadings2016

Moray_Reads @merelybookish @I-read-and-eat @RealLifeReading I have to say, it isn't the description that immediately leaps to my mind. There's humour but I don't think of it primarily as a funny book. Spot on about those nuns though 😉 7y
Moray_Reads @I-read-and-eat Thanks, you wouldn't believe how long it took my to finish that cushion (about two years!) 7y
I-read-and-eat @Moray_Reads You made that? I am so impressed! I can't even stitch on a button 😂 7y
Moray_Reads @I-read-and-eat My mum is a dressmaker and dad when to art school. I inherited a bit of the ability but not enough of the perseverance 😂 7y
Cinfhen That note is hysterical 😂 7y
LeahBergen I love inscriptions in books ❤️ 7y
Moray_Reads @Cinfhen @LeahBergen I particularly appreciate since I'm 30 in two weeks myself *gulp* 7y
Cinfhen Definitely something special and relevant in you getting that particular book with the inscription 💗happy early birthday 🎉 7y

#seasonsreadings2016 #bestblurb I loved this book and I love Lena Dunham (recently started listening to her podcast too--it's pretty good!)

juliannebenford My sister is reading this at the moment, are you enjoying it? 7y
Marni I have this book checked out from the library! 7y
jessicarenee @juliannebenford yes! It was really good. I liked the writing and the time period. I sped through it in like two days. 🙃 7y
jessicarenee @Marni nice! You should definitely read it soon. 😋 7y

Albert of Adelaide: A Novel | Howard Anderson

"If Larry McMurtry had written Wind in the Willows, he might have come up with something almost as wonderful and moving as Howard Anderson's Albert of Adelaide. This is a novel that defies analysis and summaries. Trust me. Just read it."― Mary Doria Russell, New York Times bestselling author of The Sparrow and Doc #bestblurb #highlyrecommended

Lindy I love this book! 7y

#seasonsreadings2016 - #bestblurb

This was a hard one, but I ultimately went with one of French's novels. They're suspenseful, mysterious, and intriguing, all the while giving you only a hint of what is to come.
