I tried this both on #audio and in book form, and just not feeling it. Got it as part of a subscription service and New Adult is just a hard genre for me to get into. For the right person, this could be a pick, just not for me.

Nutmegnc I didn‘t love it. Very tedious. 2d

This book does what all great historical fiction does-brings a time, place, and group of (mostly) real people to life. I knew almost nothing about the Cuban revolution in the 1890s and Cleeton deftly set the stage and made me care about characters with 3 distinct points of view which, together, tells the whole story. #audio #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks

Not my favorite of hers but a quick and quirky distraction on #audio while walking. I liked the setting and set up, but the characters get her 3 novellas were just too similar to feel authentic. Not sure I would have stayed with it if reading.

Amazing! The prose in this book is transforming, lyrical, and gorgeous. It paints a picture of the people, places, and moments in a way that makes you feel like you are part of the story and experiencing it along with the characters. I listened on #audio but want to read the hard copy I own too. Perfect for summer with all the travel bits, fabulous art references, and great #lgbtqia+ representation. #BookspinBingo #BOTM @TheAromaofBooks

Really good! All the best elements of a thriller are here: solid mystery, spooky atmosphere, complicated characters, satisfying unexpected ending. Great listen on #audio! #joysofjune #readthon #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks @Andrew65

This was good, but felt a little predictable and tidied up too easily at the end for me. I liked the gossipy, cult of celebrity piece, it was unique and fun, but it just fell short. The #audio was good, I loved the cover, enjoyed the narrator and it kept me walking. I might try another from Lloyd, maybe I just wasn‘t in the mood for this one now. #BookpinBingo @TheAromaofBooks #Doublespin

My goodness, this was wonderful. Beautifully written, perfectly paced, I really appreciated learning about this painful history with my first @ChrisBohjalian book. The way he makes this true story as riveting as a thriller is remarkable. I highly recommend this book, thank you @Soubhiville and #authoramonth for encouraging me to pick it up. Great on #audio too!

This book was interesting, a unique way of telling the story by using different perspectives from three characters. The #audio was fantastic, both because that format was especially effective via audio and also because Richard Armitage was one of the narrators. Love him! I will say it was slow at times and felt a little disjointed but the compelling ending and unexpected twist made it a pick for me. #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks
