I enjoyed the book overall, despite some character flaws and a couple of far fetched pieces. My review is long and in the comments. It contains spoilers!!! Book #75 in 2023

**Spoiler alert.**
I enjoyed the book overall, despite some character flaws and a couple of far fetched pieces. I haven‘t worked for CPS in Australia, but a police officer doesn‘t just place kids with whomever they want and especially not a relative.

Allthebookclubs Also, the two meth heads showing up with a very young child whose face is all over the news as missing and endangered would've made it to the commune sometime within 24 years. 4mo
Allthebookclubs The tumultuous relationship between Iris and Lily made them believable, but Iris withheld so much important information that would‘ve never been overlooked in the real world. (edited) 4mo
Allthebookclubs Elsa‘s story is completely devastating. I‘m glad her daughters learned the truth about her past and her tragic demise. Despite all of this, I still give the book 5 stars because I enjoyed the storytelling. 4mo

Bridgerton Book #3. Benedict's story. Gosh these people are stubborn. But it makes sense. And doesn't pull me out of the story. All the characters are engaging and I love the little nods to upcoming and already discovered pieces of the series. #75-2022

22 #75 I got two books behind in my reading challenge because this book is just slow. But it‘s worth the finish.

Finding Me: A Memoir | Viola Davis

This is a wonderful memoir of a black woman who had a tragic life of poverty and abuse who worked so hard to escape it. She lifted herself up and says “success is absolutely wonderful, but it‘s not who you are” and “I was driven to save everyone.” She gave everything she had to her craft and to her family. I respect her so much - even more than I already did. I love Viola Davis. #75 #BookSpinBingo #22 #BFC22 #MMDSRG #JubilantJuly

Thank you, @PuddleJumper , for this distraction today! I‘m still making good progress on finishing my last 2 June #roll100 titles, but here‘s what I have to look forward to in July:
#13 is The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists
#44 is Forrest Gump
#75 is The Cheese Monkeys

OK, so I can't find two of my July #roll100 hits---a genre-blending Verso Books London Jenny Hval volume, and a guide through the economic depression of the 1990s by an analyst from India---so, here's some other progressive economics I either need to get to finish (one of them just ordered from 7Stories Press); and my third hit, #75, a middle-grade by a Latina author. And some library loans.

@PuddleJumper

PuddleJumper 😂😂 Hopefully you'll find them 2y

1. Yes!! I have my own classic book challenge this year (one a month from my Modern Library collection). Tagged is this month's read.

2. I'll answer with a very old classic. I've had Seamus Heaney's trans. of Beowulf forever, & I've still not read it. Did read Sioned Davies trans. of The Mabinogion last year. Loved it. But poor Beowulf keeps getting buried on my TBR.

Thanks @TiminCalifornia for tagging me.

@TheSpineView

stevesbookstuf1 Now looking at Reedsy's list of 100 classic books. Ken Kesey's One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is #64. Stephen King's The Shining is #75.

Am I really that old?

Fantastic plot!! With all of the DNA sharing companies out there, this book fits right in with the times. Why take a chance on love when you can find your DNA matched soul mate?! Sounds great, until we remember the world isn‘t perfect and there are plenty of people looking to tear others down. Full of love, betrayal, travel, and a psychopath. I give this one 5 stars!!! Book #75 in 2021
