I‘m loving these books right now, listening to one after the other. I‘m currently on volume 7. Highly recommend the audio.

Ostensibly the journal of a young woman in 1883, we gradually find out how her situation has been impacted by the actions of her cousin. This is a fun, charming novella with a likable narrator. Apparently there are 8 of these, and I‘ll certainly read onward.

Cuilin Love these!!! So enjoyable. 2mo

I discovered this series here on Litsy! I loved the quirky characters and witty descriptions - I love writing that prompts out loud giggles. Guess I‘m hooked into reading the series!

Beth Brower, author of The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion, on what she looks for in a March read.

I think this might be what I look for *always.*

Set in 1883, this new series feels like it could‘ve been written a century ago. Emma‘s private journals are snarky and hilarious as she tries to make her way in London under the guardianship of her awful cousin Archibald. This is just volume one and I can‘t wait to read the rest. They are delightful.

monalyisha I have been pushing these on everyone in my life. Cue Tina Fey in Mean Girls, “I‘m a pusher; I push people.” They‘re so good! 😍 9mo
Cuilin @monalyisha I love these too!! 9mo
AvidReader25 @monalyisha 🤣 everyone kept telling me how wonderful they were! I‘m so glad I finally dove in. @Cuilin 9mo

BarbaraJean I need to read these!! I have them on my TBR because of @monalyisha (the pusher 😆) but I haven‘t been able to find any library copies anywhere… I think I‘m finally gonna have to break down and buy them! 9mo
AvidReader25 @BarbaraJean 🤣 apparently they aren‘t available at any library. I finally caved and did a free trial of Kindle unlimited just so I can read them all for free. 9mo
monalyisha @BarbaraJean @AvidReader25 I “pushed” my coworker who buys for our adult collection at the library to buy the first one. 😏 But typically, yeah, they‘re so hard to snag! I bought them for myself and I have no regrets. They look so pretty all together on my shelf. Covers are a great texture, too. Very satisfying. (edited) 9mo

My husband & I are childless by choice but I can‘t help wonder if our daughter would be like Emma: Portuguese with dark hair, like him. An Irish reader with sea green eyes, like me. Spirited and feisty with a quick wit and a quick temper, like our rabbit-daughter, Miss Moxie Crimefighter. It goes without saying that I‘m rather fond of Emma, am rooting for her, and will continue to take delight in reading her journals.

Suet624 What a lovely post. 2y

My time has arrived — the time when it‘s socially acceptable for your house to be filled with rabbit-themed items! 😅🌸🐇

BarbaraJean My question: is today the day you put out all of your rabbit-themed items throughout your home? Or is today the day when all the rabbit-themed items you already have up now become socially acceptable? 😂🐇💜 2y
Amiable @BarbaraJean Inquiring minds want to know! 😀 2y
monalyisha @BarbaraJean @Amiable Oh, the latter for sure! It‘s a kitschy, ungodly mix of Easter & Halloween all year in our home! 😆 2y

Cuilin One thank you for the reminder to put my rabbits out and two I love that book!! (edited) 2y

Review: 5⭐️ Run for a copy! All are part of the Kindle Unlimited program. And then I promptly treated myself to the set for my rereads. I couldn‘t put the books down, until the moments I was laughing too hard to keep reading. If you love a brave, cynical, witty heroine and an assorted cast of lovable friends, frenemies, and mortal enemies; this is your series! Emma‘s adventures while saving herself from ruin and grief will move you.

Tamra This looks fun! 2y
Jess_Read_This @Tamra This series has been one of my best reads so far this year. I‘ve never encountered an author quite like Brower. She‘s unpredictable, simultaneously light and deep in her themes/plots, hilarious, and uses many literary references as Emma rebuilds her bookshelf. If you decide to read the series, please let me know your thoughts! The first two are novellas and the rest novels. But definitely are read in order as they chronicle a entire year. 2y
