Overlong? Maybe. Timey-wimey? Definitely. Questionable ending for a couple of the characters? Yeah… about that. 🏝️🍹🧌 Still incredible? Also yes!

Juno Dawson! What a talent! It‘s been a while since I‘ve gotten so invested in a new series.

I fell in love with this cast of characters. Kissing them goodbye felt like a bit like being stabbed — right in the chest. 💔

“It felt to Elle like they were entering a new era. If their twenties had been about girlish freedom, and their thirties had been about establishing themselves as women, their forties felt like an unknown proposition. Truly grown ups. They knew themselves now. But what to do with that knowledge?”

ReadingRainbolt I‘m in line for this from the library- can‘t wait! 2mo

Mehso-so

⭐️⭐️.5 / 5
Meh! For most part I've been a big fan of HMRC but I found myself wondering if it could rather have been spread across two books. The third book was a bit dull and super cringe in parts. Luckily the ending was satisfying. I'd still recommend reading the series though

A decent ending to the series/trilogy, but not how I expected things to end.

The story starts right where Shadow Cabinet ended - not going to spoil the ending of book two here, people who have read it know what happened. From there lots of things are going on that lead to a lot of loose ends to tie up and Dawson used a rather deus ex machina method to achieve this.

Low pick

julesG @LeeRHarry it felt like Christmas came early when I got the last book in three different series as ARCs - doesn't happen often - now I'm looking forward to the audiobook, because Nicola Coughlan 4mo
