The Sight
The Sight: A Devil's Isle Novel | Chloe Neill
12 posts | 17 read | 3 to read
From the New York Times bestselling author of the Chicagoland Vampire novels, a brand new Devil's Isle Novel... The paranormal war that engulfed New Orleans seven years ago is over. But the battle for the city is just beginning . . . Claire Connolly is a Sensitive, infected with magic when the Veil that divides humanity from the world beyond fell. Magic can easily consume and destroy a Sensitive, and if Claire's secret is discovered she'll be locked into the walled district of Devil's Isle along with every other Paranormal left in the city. Bounty hunter Liam Quinn discovered Claire's secret, but refused to turn her in. Together they saved New Orleans from the resurgence of magic that nearly destroyed it. But now a dangerous cult is on the rise, and it will take both Claire and Liam--and magical allies within Devil's Isle's towering walls--to defeat the growing threat before magic corrupts them both...

Been a while since I read this series. Thought I'd dip back in.

Litsy has been really buggy for me over the past week or so. So, I haven't been around all that much. I hope everyone is enjoying their reading! I'm going to be doing a lot of #audiocleaning the next few days. We are on March break, and I'm trying to get the house cleaned up in time for my oldest's birthday at the end of the month. 🤞🏼🤞🏼 That my plans go smoothly this week!

This is another solid entry in an #urbanfantasy series about magic in New Orleans. Magic is illegal, and Claire Connolly has some. She and her crew get embroiled in the political strategizing needed to make New Orleans livable for everyone, whether human or paranormal. They fight extremists, and it feels a little like a “Paranormal Lives Matter” theme. You can decide if it‘s a social commentary or not.

BarbaraTheBibliophage @CoffeeK8 Have you read the third one yet? I need to track it down, as I have a lot of political reads coming from the library soon. I‘ll need the balance! 6y

I‘m stepping into the world of post-war New Orleans again. Paranormals War, that is. Glad to be back with Claire and her crew.

loved the beginning and the end but it did drag slightly in the middle, still worth reading 4/5 stars
