Who doesn't love this book? Our 3 year old decided this was the book she was going to bring to preschool this past week for family literacy day - and I may have been more excited than she was. A fun rhyming book about Hairy Maclary from Donaldson's Dairy and all the other dogs around town.

Best part of my surprise desk shift today was having to search for Hairy Maclary who went missing from his spot in the picture books - one of the library‘s school holiday activities was a mini scavenger hunt - had to find the picture to reveal the word that made up a book quote…

There should be a function on Goodreads that adds 1 book to your reading goal for every 10 children's books read. This is just what I have been presented with today 😂

GatheringBooks i definitely count my picturebook reads as a legitimate read on goodreads. a lot are far more complex than could ever be imagined. strong advocate here of picturebooks! :) 6y

laurieluna @GatheringBooks I counted the tagged book, because it was a bit longer and the poetry quite complex, but I feel like I would be cheating if I included The Dinosaur Who Pooped A Planet 😂

Sophoclessweetheart Same here. Usually she‘ll grab a favourite and sit beside me and read to herself but 60% of the time it‘s mummy reading to her. I don‘t mind at all though, I love when we read together x 6y
