Paige Turner has just moved to New York with her family, and she?s having some trouble adjusting to the big city. In the pages of her sketchbook, she tries to make sense of her new life, including trying out her secret identity: artist. As she makes friends and starts to explore the city, she slowly brings her secret identity out into the open, a process that is equal parts terrifying and rewarding. Laura Lee Gulledge crafts stories and panels with images that are thought-provoking, funny, and emotionally resonant. Teens struggling to find their place can see themselves in Paige's honest, heartfelt story. Praise for Page by Paige Gulledge's b&w illustrations are simple but well-suited to their subject matter; the work as a whole is a good-natured, optimistic portrait of a young woman evolving toward adulthood. Publishers Weekly A sweet coming-of-age graphic novel about an artistic introvert. Paiges sketches are soft and expressive, and Gulledge does an admirable job of providing insight into Paiges musings, creating a very intimate ambiance for this well-fleshed-out character. The artist masterfully commands her piece, creating a cohesive and fluid work that cascade smoothly along. Teens are sure to relate to this wallflower who bloomsgloriously. Kirkus Reviews Gulledge has crafted a protagonist whos introspective with a capital I, and she conveys her characters thoughts and emotions in ways that are fresh but never feel forced. That same easy, organic quality is found in the books design: the story panels and Paiges sketches blend and interact effortlessly. It all makes for a truly fresh coming-of-agegraphicnovel. Horn Book An elegant portrayal of the interactions of Paiges external and internal states. Publishers Weekly

Every once in awhile, you pick up a book on impulse and it turns out to be exactly what you need. This is one of those books. I identify so much with Paige and with her mom. +11 for an #ImpulseRead. #MerryReaders #WinterGames #24B42020

Possibly the best YA graphic novel I've read this year! The artwork was just simply amazing, stunning and gorgeous! It was outside the box and glorious! The story is about a sixteen year old girl who moves to NYC and is lonely and is fighting within herself with all her doubts and insecurities. However, when she meets new friends, it shows the wonderful transition of a backward teenager blossoming up into a very strong-willed girl. 5 stars.

Read Harder comic written and illustrated by the same person. So far really enjoying this and loving the nostalgia of revisiting what it was like to be a teenager in the time of instant messenger.

A cute coming of age comic about artists finding their voice. Cutesy and cliche, but endearing. #24in48 Book 3!

kathyellendavis I love this book! I'm always keeping my eyes out for more books by her (she wrote and illustrated another called Will and Whit that's great too!) 7y
OceanCityMama @kathyellendavis thanks for the tip! I will definitely read more by her. 7y

What a treat! Paige felt so real to me and the way her mind works reminds me so much of myself. Also, the art was BEAUTIFUL.
