Im Sam Quinn, the werewolf book nerd owner of the Slaughtered Lamb Bookstore and Bar. Things have been busy lately. While the near-constant attempts on my life have ceased, I now have a vampire gentleman caller. Ive been living with Clive and the rest of his vampires for a few weeks while the Slaughtered Lamb is being rebuilt. Its going about as well as youd expect. My mother was a wicche and long dormant abilities are starting to make themselves known. If Id had a choice, necromancy wouldnt have been my top pick, but its coming in handy. A ghost warns me someone is coming to kill Clive. When I rush back to the nocturne, I find vamps from New Orleans readying an attack. One of the benefits of vampires looking down on werewolves is no one expects much of me. They dont expect it right up until I take their heads. Now, Clive and I are setting out for New Orleans to take the fight back to the source. Vampires are masters of the long game. Revenge plots are often decades, if not centuries, in the making. We came expecting one enemy, but quickly learn we have darker forces scheming against us. Good thing Im the secret weapon they never see coming.

Yes I‘m binging- (thanks to @DebinHawaii ) I have no regrets cause a girls gotta read what a girls gotta read. Ok maybe a few regrets cause there‘s a stack of books waiting for me- and I regret not being a speed reader 🤣 but this series is just fun. And makes my face smile and shoulders relax .

DebinHawaii Glad you are having fun with them. I paused at 2 & keep wanting to buy 3 but I 1) knew if I did I would stop & read it 2) decided to wait until closer to book 4 for a cheaper price! 😜 I am slower going but LOVING my first #NewYearWhoDis pick from your list The House in the Cerulean Sea SO much! I am trying for 2-3 chapters a night before I crash & I am a bit over 1/2-way there. 🤗 2y

Finished the 2nd book in the Sam Quinn series (I‘ll tag the first⬇️) for all the “thons” above. Now I‘m torn on whether to buy the 3rd one that just came out or wait until the price goes down.🤷🏻‍♀️Sam, wolf-wicche hybrid, goes with her vampire lover Clive to NOLA for revenge in a plot against him. I 🖤Sam & the side characters (all kinds of supernaturals)⬇️

DebinHawaii …are a hoot, especially Stheno, Sam‘s Gorgon protector & friend. Lots of violence & a bit gory at times but it‘s balanced by the dark humor. The New Orleans ghostly setting is also great for an October read. Start with this one:

I don‘t do much holiday decorating & don‘t have #HalloweenLights up yet so I thought I‘d show the diner by work where I grabbed fried rice for breakfast because they DO decorate A LOT! It makes their little hole-in-the-wall look quite #haunted 👻

Breakfast at my desk with my 80s music, my Venti-Apple Crisp Macchiato with an extra shot (free b-day drink-must go big!) 😉 & book 2 in this series.
