Roommaid
Roommaid | Sariah Wilson
From bestselling author Sariah Wilson comes a charming romance about living your life one dream at a time. Madison Huntington is determined to live her dreams. That means getting out from under her family's wealth and influence by saying no to the family business, her allowance, and her home. But on a teacher's salary, the real world comes as a rude awakening--especially when she wakes up every morning on a colleague's couch. To get a place of her own (without cockroaches, mold, or crime scene tape), Madison accepts a position as a roommaid. In exchange for free room and board, all she needs to do is keep her busy roommate's penthouse clean and his dog company. So what if she's never washed a dish in her life. She can figure this out, right? Madison is pretty confident she can fake it well enough that Tyler Roth will never know the difference. The finance whiz is rich and privileged and navigates the same social circles as her parents--but to him she's just a teacher in need of an apartment. He's everything Madison has run from, but his kindhearted nature, stomach-fluttering smile, and unexpected insecurities only make her want to get closer. And Tyler is warming to the move. Rewarding job. Perfect guy. Great future. With everything so right, what could go wrong? Madison is about to find out.

This story is pretty silly and definitely predictable, but is still decent, light fare. As a “bonus,” in this review I step onto my soapbox to talk about two genres and their misuse (in my humble opinion). Read my full review here: https://debbybrauer.org/#roommaid

Vansa Seriously. I don't see Tom Clancy's genre being called " weapons obsessive drivel", for instance! 2y

I'm picky about romance novels, so I was surprised how much I enjoyed this one. The warm fuzzies I felt at the end were awesome. This is a romantic comedy novel, Madison the main character moves into an apartment with the agreement to clean it and take care of his Golden retriever. The owner is a hot guy so she agrees not knowing some facts have been hidden. As you read the story everyone's lies get disclosed. #BookSpinBingo

TheAromaofBooks Yay!! I enjoyed this one a lot, too. It's so hard to find contemporary romances that aren't just full of explicit scenes! 3y

Great book if you‘re looking for a fluffy, predictable romance with no true conflict. It was perfect for me because I‘ve been searching for books that I can read in under a day to try and catch up my my reading goal! Probably could have done with all the repetitive “no, he can‘t like me, plus he has that rule..” which felt like it was being said at least every other page. But all-in-all it was a really cute and lighthearted story.

Since March, when I‘ve been able to sit down and read for any length of time, I‘ve been escaping into romance novels. This is another light, beach, fun read that kept me up till the early morning hours to finish. Compelling characters, a cute story, with no real-world implications. And I loved it. Highly recommend if you just need something FUN.

My final book for November - ironically, the entire second half was set at Christmas so apparently I should have waited to read this one ? This is fun and fluffy. Madison is a little too airheaded for me at times, but overall it was lovely to read a romance that was clean and didn't have any even "kind of" cheating in it...not sure why that is so hard to find in contemporary romcoms!

Oldschool_millenial My college roommate drew on Post its and would sick then to her side of our dorm 3y
TheAromaofBooks @Oldschool_millenial - This book didn't have quite as many Post-its as The Flatshare, but it was still pretty cute!! 3y

TheAromaofBooks @Cinfhen - Yes, me too!! It's been a few years since I read the original, so I'm going to revisit it first before reading the new book. Ready Player Two is due back at the library shortly because it's a new book, so I'm hoping to get it checked off this week!! 3y

It was a cute and witty rom-com about Madison who was cut off from her rich family to follow her dream. She ends up being a room-maid for Tyler Roth, a rich and handsome finance guy. One rule he has, is no dating the roommate. Madison thinks this will me easy but like they say attraction is magnetic.

A light, easy romance. Nothing too spectacular about this one, but sometimes you need something that doesn't require too much brain power. I like it when everything works out nicely in the end.
