Blood of Empire
Blood of Empire | Brian McClellan
6 posts | 3 read | 11 to read
As the final battle approaches a sellsword, a spy, and a general must find unlikely and dangerous allies in order to turn the tides of war in the last book of Brian McClellan's epic fantasy trilogy of magic and gunpowder. The Dynize have unlocked the Landfall Godstone, and Michel Bravis is tasked with returning to Greenfire Depths to do whatever he can to prevent them from using its power; from sewing dissension among the enemy ranks to rallying the Palo population. Ben Styke's invasion of Dynize is curtailed when a storm scatters his fleet. Coming ashore with just twenty lancers, he is forced to rely on brains rather than brawn - gaining new allies in a strange land on the cusp of its own internal violence. Bereft of her sorcery and physically and emotionally broken, Lady Vlora Flint now marches on Landfall at the head of an Adran army seeking vengeance against those who have conspired against her. While allied politicians seek to undo her from within, she faces insurmountable odds and Dynize's greatest general. Continue the epic fantasy series by the author whose debut novel Brandon Sanderson called "just plain awesome!" Day 8 #12Booksof2020 The final book in McClellan‘s Gods of Blood and Power trilogy was every bit as engaging as the first two. I love McClellan‘s characters and the world he sets them in. I was sorry to see this trilogy come to an end.

Andrew65 These look great. 11mo
MsMelissa @Andrew65 They are fantastic, but I wouldn‘t start with this trilogy as it includes characters first featured in an earlier trilogy (which I also love). Start here 11mo
Andrew65 @Book_Fiend_Melissa Thanks 😊 11mo

Fantastic end to another amazing trilogy from Brian McClelland. I love the world McClelland has created and the characters that populate it. I really hope another book or several set in the powder mage universe are planned. I‘m not ready to say goodbye to the powder mage world. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Finished planting my back garden, took my daughter for a drive, and am now finally sitting down with a good book, a cup of chai, and some Eid treats that our next door neighbours provided for us last night as part of their celebration 😊

Ellie would like you to ignore her shagginess - she hasn‘t been groomed since mid-Feb, and has to wait another two weeks for her much needed cut!

speljamr Absolutely loved this book and everything written in the Powder Mage world! 2y
