Set in an idyllic Sicilian seaside village. A setting so easy for me to imagine and mentally escape. Edie‘s former MIL, Anna, has died and left her property in her will. Edie and her former husband, Joe, divorced years earlier following a tragedy. Edie has to travel to Sicily where she and Joe will meet with an attorney to resolve the will. Anna left Joe and Edie the family villa.

Excellent book. When Edie‘s ex mother in law Anna dies she is relieved. Edie blames her for the accident which destroyed her family.
Anna leaves an old abandoned villa to Edie and her ex husband in her will.
The villa holds many secrets and someone in the village is determined to drive the couple away. #Thehousebythesea #LouiseDouglas #RichardandJudybookclub
