so-soIt's an interesting idea. The Vanishing Deep explores the idea of being able to bring back a loved one from the dead for one day. Tempe does just this after saving for two years after the death of her sister. Elysea is revived the story goes to many extreme lengths to keep the dead alive. It meanders and goes off the rails in a few places, and I am not sure I was invested in the characters, but I liked the notion and the newness of the story.

The concept of this book intrigued me and it was written in such a new and refreshing way that I was hooked from page one.

pickThe Vanishing Deep is set in a fascinating future world in which global warming melted the polar ice caps and The Great Waves submerged most of the planet. A facility called Palindromena is able to resurrect the drowned dead for 24 hours, after which they must die again. Tempest decides to resurrect her sister who died 2 years ago. This aquatic adventure is non-stop and the complex plot has many twists and turns. A well done YA sci-fi dystopian.
I read in the last few weeks that YA was having a “drowning“ problem in book covers. And I have noticed it. Lots of heads floating in water. I do like how this one was done. What do you think? Now that I have told you about it, I bet you start seeing them more.
