Loved this TV Series and was excited to see what this graphic novel was like, it's a prequel which reveals the events that led Vanessa to try and find her missing childhood friend, Mina Harker, and exposes the true nature of the vampires infesting Victorian London.

There's very little dialogue in this.

I read it in like 20 mins, it's so short and not well thought out.

I've given it two stars because of the illustrations and well..Eva Green.. :P

Phelangies Honestly, the Penny dreadful show was good but not well ended. I‘m not surprised that the GN wasn‘t that good. 4y
TheNeverendingTBR @Phelangies Yea, it was cancelled I believe. This graphic novel serves as a prequel to the TV series. 4y

Really loved this prequel to the TV show.

This graphic novel shows us more information about Mina and what happened to her before Sir Malcolm started looking for her. The illustrations are awesome, it‘s really easy to follow and flows really well.

I‘ll happily look at Eva Green all day 🙈🔥❤️

Moonprismpower I recently looked up facts about Valentine‘s Day and found out that a penny dreadful is an anti-valentine sent from a person to another whose affections they do not want. 😃😂 4y

PickwickPlockPlock Yes! Loved it! 7y
Crystalblu Totally dug it! I did have to read Picture of Dorian Grey after watching the first season. It was the only one I didn‘t know. 7y

I still haven't finished season 1, but I enjoyed this graphic novel. Cleared up some of my confusion about what was even going on. 👍🏾 Which will make finishing the series more enjoyable.

TheNextBook That cover is nice! 8y

I started the TV series on Netfix months ago but I never watched the last episode because I liked the show so much I just didn't want it to end. Now that the release for the new graphic novel is approaching I decided to watch the end to get ready for what's next 😉🤓

This is okay for an issue 1. Not a lot happened. It's a super short read and there isn't many words. The artwork is fine, but nothing groundbreaking. This seems to be more of a novelty item for fans of the show. I received this in a horror block box and I don't think I would buy any more myself.

AngelErin I do like the show though. 9y
