We may have met one of walliams worst villains yet,AWFUL AUNTIE ,she makes trunchball look like an angel.
Loved the ending to this one ❤️ especially the special letter 😂 petition signed!

“ Ya wanted nuffink more than to be older, but bein a child is such a special fing. When yer a child, ya can see all the magic in the world “

“... It really doesn‘t matter if you grew up in a workhouse or a palace. We are all the same really.”

I thought I‘d be able to read once I got my nephews down for the night but the baby refuses to lay down and sleep and the big one (who‘s really the middle one) refuses to be in a room alone. 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️

A great story but I find too much like other stories that you have read. Roald Dahl always springs to mind when reading books by David Walliams.

Matilda-esque is the tag I give to this particular story. But I still recommend this book. You're never too old to enjoy these stories...might even take you back to the stories that made you fall in love with reading when you was a child.

#getmovin #ghost

The last book I read with a ghost in it was Awful Auntie. Soot is a really cool ghost. Now David Walliams, I love you to the moon and back, but reading this book aloud almost made me lose my mind. So Many Owls!! My 7yo however loved it (I can imagine DW would cackle with glee about that!)

I promise to read at least one grown up book with a ghost in it this year, or my horror loving friends will disown me! 😂😂

Cinfhen If your 7 yr old loved it then it‘s a win!!! 6y
saresmoore We‘ve managed to get several of Walliams‘ audiobooks from the library, so it saves me reading aloud! However, this one scared my 7yo so much one night, we had to turn off the audio before the book was finished. 😱😆 6y

Centique @saresmoore good idea! I think this freaked ME out more than the 7yo. Definitely dark. I‘m reading him The House of Secrets by Chris Columbus right now and that‘s nearly giving me nightmares - so a word of warning! 😳🙃 6y
Centique @Cinfhen it sure is. I‘ve made a “no reading Walliams aloud” rule now. 😂 I love our time reading together though. Hope it lasts a long time 🤞 6y

This is my daughters collection of books from the library this week.. She's become a massive Potter fan & I didn't even realise David Walliams wrote books.. I think I may give that one a read myself.. 😊

Sophie's expanding bookcase. She chose another 2 David Walliams books for easter 📚❤️

saresmoore Sophie & my Lucy are kindred spirits, I think! Lucy collects the same Funko mini characters. 😊 7y
Joanne1 My daughter listens to billionaire boy and Mr Stink repeatedly on audio. Great for long car rides. 7y
DeborahSmall @saresmoore she has loads more books in her 'toy box' (Lego and books) in the sunroom, now that's she's 8 in June, she said she's growing up and really is too old to have toy boxes 😂 so I've been told to put shelves high up on the wall for her funko vinyls. She wants belle and the beast next and all the marvel characters, we've been fighting over the HP ones as I love them too. 💕 7y

DeborahSmall @Joanne1 that sounds great. We're never in the car for more that 30 minutes. NI is such a small country. She's loving Roddy Doyle at the minute. But she's been watching pretty little liars nonstop for the last week. She's on episode 20 of season 4 🙈 I think she'll have it finished before she goes back to school 💕 7y
Joanne1 @DeborahSmall we're in Australia, so plenty of long drives. Our beach cabin is a seven hour drive from where we live. Plenty of audio book time and as she get travel sickness it's about all she can do in the car. 7y
saresmoore @DeborahSmall Oh, I love that! She's such a mature little reader! I can imagine Lucy will be interested in the Marvel ones, too. The minis are so cute! 7y
DeborahSmall @saresmoore she loves all the marvel movies. Her taste in tv in movies is very advanced for her age, it's great going to the cinema and not having to endure cartoons. She's reminding me of my eldest son. Sam was sitting through LOTR at 6 for 3 hours in the cinema. Now he's hopefully going on to do film at uni this year ❤️ 7y
DeborahSmall @Joanne1 I would love that. I loved when we drove through 5 states in the US in just 7 hours. I love when we drive to Dublin and it's only 2 hours lol 💕 7y
andrew61 My youngest daughter is 15 and the last few books we read together were david walliams- he seems to have the same humour as roald dahl that children love- a great bookcase. 7y
DeborahSmall @andrew61 Quentin Blake illustrated for Roald Dahl and now David Walliams so I think it's a great attraction for young kids who like Dahl to take the step up to Walliams. 7y
saresmoore Oh, very cool! I love when youthful fascinations turn into something substantial. I'm not familiar with David Walliams, but it sounds like something Lu would love. Thank you for the tip! 7y
DeborahSmall @saresmoore let me know if you can find his books ok. We can get 2 paperbacks for only Qf at the minute and I've a double of Awful Auntie I can post you xxx 7y
saresmoore Oh, thank you! I will keep that in mind. 😊 7y
