First book finished for 2024 and it was a great way to start my reading year. This series continues to be nostalgic for me with lots of reminders of my childhood. This instalment felt a bit choppy but was enjoyable nonetheless. 3.5⭐️

UwannaPublishme You‘re reading up a storm already. Yay! I must add more graphic novels to my list too. 3mo
PurpleyPumpkin @UwannaPublishme They really are a nice way to fill in the gaps between heavier books. ☺️ 3mo

This is a cute coming of age story that feels like someone recounting her experience growing up in the 80s. I thought it was a little episodic, like it was trying to be a Sunday comic strip in graphic novel form. It also felt like something the target age group might not be very interested in. #Comics #DungeonsAndDragons

3.5 ⭐
It‘s a year in her life. 7th grade, and it‘s the late 70‘s so everything should be groovy. Sunny learns about D&D and that it‘s okay to not like all the same things your friends do as you grow up. Overall I like the book, and it is a quick read. But it‘s not deep. It has heart, but it‘s forgettable.

I read this one with my niece who said she loved the book. It is really cute. It‘s set in the 1970s as a coming of age story. It also mentioned gender and age based stereotypes in a funny and nerdy way. The art was simple, but fit nicely with the story.

Ah and the series continues on! This time Sunny faces the rules of being groovy or not in the middle school. She is torn between being cool with her girlfriends or being nerdy playing D&D with the boys. Which way will she turn? Once again, love the story and the illustrations. As a PA native, this series takes me back to when I grew up and I enjoy each and every one of these books! Great pic of the author at the end as well. :)
