The Assassin Game
The Assassin Game | Kirsty McKay
At Cate's isolated boarding school, Killer is more than a game-it's an elite secret society. Members must avoid being "killed" during a series of thrilling pranks, and only the Grand Master knows who the "killer" is. When Cate's finally invited to join the Assassins' Guild, she knows it's her ticket to finally feeling like she belongs at Umfraville Hall. But when the Game becomes all too real, the school threatens to shut it down. Cate will do anything to keep playing and save the Guild, but can she find the real assassin before she's the next target?

It‘s been a long time since I‘ve read a book where I couldn‘t guess the ending at all. The plot was unique and original and I was intrigued the entire time. I loved the characters and the relationship between Vaughan and Cate was adorable. Normally I don‘t like how books end, but the plot twist and even the last chapter was pretty good. It was a little cliché but it didn‘t take away from the plot at all. Well-written and well paced, I loved it.

This book is slow at first but it picks up about halfway through then I really got into it. It was a good suspense/thriller!

Can‘t get into this so it‘s going on the DNF pile, I‘ve read less than 50 pages of it since Monday. 🙄

This was just 'eh' and I'm happy to be done. I actually didn't guess right about who the killer was so that kept it entertaining but it took a LONG time for anything to actually happen.

This book was great if you'd like a murder mystery thriller type book. The feeling of this novel and it's setting/ plot reminds me of a summer camp even though it's a boarding school. The end was very unexpected I thought she had found the killer once she found the card in a guys violin case. Even though there may have been death involved I would like to play this Irl without death, it would be pretty fun. This was an emotion roller coaster.

This is the second book that my sister got me for Christmas and I've been dying to read it forever. I was hoping it would come out on audiobook eventually but since it hasn't I knew I needed to read it in print sooner than later.

Little juvenile at times, but intriguing. The mystery of the game and excitedness keeps you pulled in.

Boooooooring and wooden. Other reviews mentioned it picks up 3/4 of the way through, but I do not have time for that!

Bland and boring Cate is the MC in this "thriller" about rich kids in a boarding school who play the Assassin Game. These kids are supposed to be smart but they aren't portrayed that way whatsoever. Suspense is non existent and the pace is dreadfully slow. Full review on www.novelgossip.com

I was pleasantly surprised with this, it was nice YA mystery/thriller. It was a bit slow in the beginning but picked up towards the end. Could have used a some more character building, but for anyone who grew up watching the original scream movie it's worth a read.

Mehso-so

Quick review-definitely for pre-teens as adults won't find much to love. First major event happens 200pgs into a 300+pg book. Not terrible, but guessed the twist by pg 50. Typical YA-not much character development+lots of drama+quick love interest. Title change is usually a bad sign was Killer Game

Reading for review. Picked because of the cover, if I am honest. So far 100 pages in, a quick YA murder game turned ugly. Characters could be developed more, but it is a YA book, so... It is a pretty fun read. Was previously published as Killer Game, it seems in 2015.
